Encouraging Your Child to Read
Just 20 minutes of reading to your child every day will give them an incredible advantage in school and in life. To assist you in this effort, the staff can help you select materials from our extensive collection of picture books, board books, and preschool music. When your child is learning to read, ask the librarians about the early reading collection. It is set up to make it easy to find a book that is at the right level for your child, avoiding the frustration of a book that is either much too easy or much too hard. The Children's Collection also includes audio books, comic books, and educational computer games.
