Greetings to our residents, businesses, visitors, and any who are considering joining us in our great city!
As City Administrator, I am excited about the direction that the City of Lewiston has taken in recent years in support of the values outlined in our Strategic Plan. Among others, these values: recognize the voices and contributions of all members of our community; emphasize our goal of exemplary customer service; prioritize protecting our safe and vibrant neighborhoods; acknowledge our historic heritage; and commit the city to providing quality services and the necessary infrastructure to support future growth and sustainable jobs.
All of us at the city are proud of our record of success. Lewiston has enjoyed regional and national recognition for a wide range of initiatives, both municipal and private, including the 2007 All-America City (AAC) designation, the 2006 City Livability designation, and identification by Inc. Magazine as one of the top 100 cities for “Fastest, Most Sustained Growth.” Since 2000, the city has experienced over $500 million in development projects that have diversified an economy once dependent on the shoe and textile industries, expanded our arts and cultural offerings, and supported a growing and diversifying population.
I am privileged to work closely with our elected Mayor and City Councilors. As City Administrator, I am appointed by the City Council and responsible for carrying out the Council's adopted policies and priorities. The duties of the City Administrator include:
