Absentee Ballots Now Available for Lewiston Voters

The State Referendum and Lewiston Municipal Candidate & Referendum election will be held on Tuesday, November 5. Absentee ballots for this election are currently available for Lewiston residents from the City Clerk’s Office, Lewiston City Hall, 27 Pine Street. Registered voters needing an absentee ballot may call the City Clerk’s Office (513-3124), may mail in an application form which can be downloaded from the City’s website, or can come into the City Clerk’s Office, located on the second floor of City Hall. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm. Voters may also order an absentee ballot online through the City’s website.  In addition, the City’s website contains sample ballots, directions to polling places, and other information that voters may find useful.  

The following candidate races will be appearing on the Lewiston ballot:  Mayor, School Committee At Large, City Councilor for Wards 1 through 7, and School Committee member for Wards 1 through 7. Also appearing on the city ballot is a referendum question pertaining to a bond issue for the Lewiston High School building expansion project. The state ballot will have two referendum questions – one to amend the State Constitution to allow voters with disabilities to sign petitions in an alternate manner and a bond issue requesting funds for transportation improvements and investments.
