Special Note for 2021 Tax Filers

What if You Worked in 2019 But Didn’t Work Much in 2020 Due to COVID?   This tax season, tax filers will be able to choose whether they want to use either their 2019 or 2020 earned income to calculate the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Additional Child Tax Credit, thanks to a one-time “LOOKBACK” IRS provision.

If you think the “LOOKBACK” provision would be beneficial to you, please include your 2019 tax return when using either GET YOUR REFUND or SCAN & GO.

                                           History of Lewiston-Auburn CA$H

The Lewiston-Auburn CA$H Coalition was established as a multi-partner coalition by the City of Lewiston, Maine, in 2003.  It is one of ten coalitions statewide that prepares taxes free of charge for low-to-moderate income individuals. Community partners and volunteers also advocate "creating assets, savings, and hope" by providing resource connections for individuals/families to achieve long-term financial stability. The Coalition also promotes the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a credit that can render a tremendous boost to household budgets.

In addition, since the 2004 tax season, the Coalition has facilitated free tax preparation by IRS tax law certified volunteers for low-to-moderate-income workers within the Lewiston-Auburn area and connected residents with asset-building opportunities. We also offer FREE financial check-ups.
